R2elk your birds are beautiful! I do love how beautiful the Sweetgrass are but I should have hatched them myself instead of letting my hen do it. All my other turkey were very friendly since I handled them so much as poults. No matter what I did the tom kept trying to jump on me. But I had a customer that loved them and I let him buy them.

One more quick question for you all. Since we have just the two hen turkeys do you all think they should be fine staying in the same pen as the chickens? They have been good so far with only a small amount of chasing and pecking. I know there are some illnesses that can effect the turkeys that chickens carry What are your opinions on this?

I go out of my way to make sure that I never imprint any of my poultry. My poultry are not people friendly but are people respectful. They will not approach a person and will move away if approached by anyone.

All of the problem poultry that I have dealt with were all imprinted by the people that had them before I got them.

Blackhead is the disease that chickens can pass on to turkeys. You either have it in your soil or you don't have it. If you don't have Blackhead present, turkeys and chickens can live together without making the turkeys sick.

It is safer keeping hen turkeys with chickens than lone toms. The hens will not kill the chickens trying to breed with them. Whether or not your turkey hens will keep getting along with your chickens will depend on their individual personalities as well as the personalities of the chickens. Turkey hens can have issues with roosters or even individual chicken hens. It works best if they have lots of room to get away from each other. The more cramped the space, the more likely it is that there will be problems.
