Snitch is not happy, She tries to pull away from me when I reach in the cage.

When I hold her she pulls her head away from me. It reminds me of most my dates as a kid.


I have not let her out yet. I am thinking about it, but I think I need the catcher first. I ordered 2 of them, his and hers, chicken catchers. I am getting it for the turkeys getting the Toms into a landing net is a pain they are so big. I hope this is easier on them. We had them as kids on the farm.

Hmm, sounds like Snitch is in a snit. I suggest sitting next to her & handing her a few treats occasionally. In my very limited experience, just spending time, with no pressure on the bird, and feeding treats builds up that trust.

I want to see your peacocks!! Aren't they sensitive to the cold? Do you have to have them in a conditioned space during the winter? I go over to the peacock threads just to see their beautiful pictures!

Ralph, do all the slates with small eyes always turn into special needs birds? I'd love to see a picture.

Peacocks do fine here in Wyoming. I even had a person swap a peachick for some guinea keets last year.

I have not, they are never here at the same time. Maybe I will have to have a toad roast and invite both families...

Peacocks do fine here in Wyoming. I even had a person swap a peachick for some guinea keets last year.

My Brother in law tries to keep peacocks. They do great his problem is they refuse to go into shelter and spend the nights at the top of trees. He loses the hens when they hide the nest and then try to set. Ground predators take them out. He says finding a peahens nest is nearly impossible.
