Got home from work tired. Just wanted to coop the girls & be a bum. But the whole flock had gathered by the back gate expecting their evening stroll. Just couldnt disappoint them. Lovely evening for a walk. Good time was had by all. Can't say I regretted making the effort.

I think someone in the turkey coop is eating eggs I hope it's just a fluke but I don't know :/ There was a frozen one this morning with a peck hole in it and I found just the leftover shell of one on the floor earlier. I took a bunch of fake certain eggs and put in random places out there so that hopefully they'll pick at them and realize they're not for eating. Hope it works.

I have been playing H e double hockey sticks with egg eaters this year. Even my favorite S Sussex were caught in the act today.

I am making rollaway boxes now. Hopefully I will get it under control.



Also I lost a turkey tonight, I think. The hen with the small eyes. When I was putting the turkeys away, she came running out of the coop. She ran into a couple things including a blue barrel. I tried to catch her and she took off through the woods, she ran in a straight line bumping into things as she went.

I tried to catch her, but a blind turkey is fast! I last saw her about 1/4 a mile from the coop headed south into the swamp. I doubt she will make it through the night.

It is not a big deal, I had told the WWD I was going to take her head off tomorrow, I do not want her to breed.
