Our internet was out, so I switched to cell phone data, then it loaded for me.

Queenie is going to the next swap. I've had enough. Not only is she not a friendly, social turkey which I prefer, she's been shirring broody for weeks. I slipped a chick under her whom she immediately attacked. I will not have it. She ripped the down off that poor chick's neck almost the whole way around. I cleaned him up and stitched him up and am hoping for the best. I'm so glad I didn't take a chance on giving her the little poult!

Aurora....that poult is darling!! Can't wait to see what he turn out to be!

I think id do the same with Queenie. Why keep any animal you don't enjoy...

Finnie I am glad the hatch is going well, I was wondering if buying those sleeves was a waste of money. I am saying it was not if you are doing so well.

I do not have pictures yet, but both the poults are Blues! One has huge dark spots. That one may just end up living here. I could use a blue hen

Huge dark spots sounds cool! Can't wait for pics. Love me some bug eyed babies!

My hens were fighting yesterday evening. I think its my fault. Picked Annie up for a few seconds, set her down on a bench, Daisy hopped up next to her & they were off to the races. I waded into the fray & separated them. Threw Annie into the pen & left Daisy loose. They decided to fight threw the fencing. Threw Daisy into the dog run. Let them loose right before bedtime and off they went again. Separated them again. Waited till dark & stuck them both on their roost. Hoping a nights sleep will help them get over it. Girls.....

Storms woke me up at 4:00. For some reason Ralphie was up too & mentioned coffe....I had to make a cup. I can see an afternoon nap in my future today!

I'm still disturbed over my hens fighting. I know it was over me. R2elk is shaking his head right now. That said....boy were they stunning in full hen display! That was right before they plowed into each other. And boy can they clamp down! I decided to pry Daisy's mouth open to release Annie's waddle. They have stronger bites than I realized. Interested to see if they calm down overnight.

Memphis-don't worry. A month or two ago, Sweet Pea and Eve got in to it and for a few days they were arguing and fighting with each other every time they were near each other. Then, they forgot about it. Maybe your girls are just going to switch places in their pecking order.

In my experience, separating them only makes it worse especially if they can fight through a fence. I don't know why but suspect they believe they can't get hurt that makes them braver when a fence separates them. Ralphie is right about it being that time of the year. They are having serious hormone issues and no tom is making them worse. They probably would have fought even if you had not shown favoritism. The longer you keep them apart the longer the fight is going to take.

When the fight is between two turkeys that are equal in size, attitude and strength the fight can seem to go on forever.

Good luck.
