I sing any one of my old Beau's hit songs. Eileen is such a good singer....Of course, I never sing them during the periods when there are active restraining orders in force...

When I tried that, the turkey hen smashed all the chicken eggs in short order. Maybe I'll try some duck eggs if I get a broody turkey this year.

Same thing happened to me when I tried giving chicken eggs to a turkey hen. Every one got crushed. I have 2 broody turkeys right now hogging up next boxes. They will get a few CCL cockerels each next weekend to entertain themselves.

That reminds me. That CCL cockerel that Queenie attacked when I tried to give him to her is growing big, strong, and healthy The skin and down that I stitched back up has reattached (all except a little bit at the edge). He'll probably have some scarring but other than that, he's doing great

They're pretty
Lightweight (at least mine are)
Agile
Smart

Cons:
Fly very well, escape pen often
Headstrong and stubborn
Crazy!
Smart

I only have 2 RP hens. One is sweet but hardly more than tolerant. She let's me pet her only when SHE wants. The other is extremely skittish and freaks out when you come towards her (she's going to a new home tomorrow).

That's reminds me why I got rid of my Narragansett turkeys. Tried to let them range here as I lost my tom and there was plenty of wild toms here same size. They stayed for a bit then just walked off down the road towards the neighbors. I had to coral them back. Not so smart. Very friendly though.
