A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

SO FRUSTRATED. I am sure that it is the coccidia now. Just lost 5 more chicks today and counting. NONE of the places around me have corid for medicine. I am going to loose my whole flock at this rate before I can order some in, I already lost a third. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE THAT CAN HELP PLEASE. I hate this crap.

You are going to have to go get a prescription from your local vet for Corid

Actually? Is it a big animal vet or is it just a small animal vet?

All of the above.

Tractor supply should have Corid powder in the catle section, it does not require a prescription.

Call the vet back and ask about getting some SMZ/TMP or Albon, all vets should have those, though they probably won't give it to you without seeing a bird first.

I don't know if this will help you fast enough. You would probably have to pay a lot for overnight shipping. But if it's that or a vet bill....

Foy's Pigeon Supplies is great. They have all kinds of meds. http://www.foyspigeonsupplies.com/medications/coccidiosis?Page=2&Items=12

Have your sick birds had bloody diarrhea? Is that how you know it's cocci? I can't remember what symptoms you said. Well, good luck.

I think the worst is over. I separated the 5 sick ones left. One or two seem to be improving. 17 healthy ones separated. The disease just came and left almost taking out half of my turkeys AGAIN. The medicine is coming on Monday just in case it happens again.

I got a picture or two last night. I lost a tiny little chunk of my thumb in the process though lol. Pebbles has never been aggressive while broody but I think she's finally getting serious. She took her baby outside yesterday for a few minutes, just a little excursion before heading back to the nest. Only one of the younger turkeys was tucked under her last night but I snapped the picture (then got bit looking for the little baby). The rest flew up to roost with everyone else. I'll get it uploaded after my morning chores.
