It's a gross and rainy day today but yesterday, I got out my hammock again. Eve was up on my chest, relaxing She so loves to be held and cuddled. Right now, she looks like a mosaic. She has a bunch of nice, new, dark feathers mixed in with old faded ones lol

Proud owner of 3 nine week old poults.. from a BYCers neighbor/ friend...she hatched them out of shipped eggs that were bronze , bourbon or saw palm. 1 is out of a palm for sure, one looks bronze but the other she thought was a bourbon is reddish but not a bourbon... I don't care what they are except my jakes need hens... the palm is strutting though LOL.. sorry for bad pics they are still shy around me.

Well I sent 14 olive eggers to my son's friends dad. He came by this morning and picked them up. Of course he couldn't help but notice the 11 toms in the front yard soooooooo, in the morning he is coming to pick up two pair of RP's. This is a strategic move on my part. He owns a smokehouse and makes tons of sausage. Next on the agenda.....smoked turkys

My grandfather was a nursery man...owned greenhouses. No balers involved, however as a kid I remember him using a sickle in one of the fields. He would swing it from his hip & even as a kid it seemed to be rhythmic and elegant movement.

I assume that you mean that he used a scythe. As a kid I used both a brush scythe and a grass/hay scythe. I still have the grass scythe and have used it here also. If you know what you are doing it is a very efficient way to mow tall grass.

I used a sickle too but you sure would not want to mow a field with a sickle.
