A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Back to the turkeys. I will try and get a picture of the questionable hen sometimes today. I also noticed another peculiar behavior. The way I have to run my fence is to get it level at the TOP. Then I come back and put wire at the places where it doesn't touch the ground. About knee high on the palms. They will fly OVER 10ft of fence but they will NOT duck (sorry Ralph) under it. Has anyone ever seen there turkeys go under a fence?

yep, they should make that more obvious
:hit
i dont need that many, i only want 6

I only want a couple too.I plan on selling most of them and already have a few people lined up and waiting lol

I've had a few go under. Not necessarily palms though.

Folks,

What type of predator prefers the innards over the carcass? What ever it is, appears that my top roo went toe to toe with it last night and lost. His head was bloody--but intact. None of the carcass meat was touched. What ever it was was big enough to knock down the fence on the way out. I have no idea how it got in. :he:barnie

To add insult to injury, I've got a couple coyotes that have been trying to figure out how to defeat the fence. Once I figure out their time table, that threat will end. But I'm still trying to figure out what else I'm hunting...:th:mad:

If it is other than Black and White is has to have a third gene.

Just remember not all genes are equal or complete in turkeys... I have never owned one, But I have seen some beautiful pictures of them, and some pretty ugly ones.

I missed part of the question, I do not think it means the siblings both have it, However I admit I could be wrong on that.

I had to share this photo that was taken yesterday at our family party. My turkey buddy was perched on my arm and we were showing her to my niece. The little girl tried to gently grab the turkey, and it calmed down and was just staring at her when she was giving it a kiss. It was so cute!

I was thinking doglike critter, when I read it when you mentioned coyotes I think you nailed it.

They tend to go for the blood rich organs first.
