A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I feel like this is a stupid question, but we had a meat turkey poult die from eating grass, I want to let my royals and bourbon run around outside but I'm worried they could end up the same as the meat turkey poult. Is it ok to take them out side?

Please explain "meat turkey poult'?

It should be fine to let them graze unless you have some "poison" or hazard on the grass.

How do you know the turkey died from eating grass, I am thinking the sentence should be more on the lines " A turkey that ate grass died from something...

All my turkeys eat grass and all my turkeys will die that does not mean eating the grass is the reason for dying..If any of that makes sense.

We had a broad breasted white turkey poult (Meant for meat and don't live long as adults.) We learned how he died because we opened him up to see him compacted with nothing but grass when we found him dead. We have nothing poisonous.

He might have gorged and ended up with impacted crop... if you are worried and they haven't had access to grass before, start out with limited free range time 10-15 mins or so and extend it each day until they get used to it and don't risk overindulging...
