A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

So here we go, I changed the litter in poult brooder yesterday now they are eating the shavings. Went and got some beach sand today, going to switch to that. Thoughts?

sand would be like grit, so that would be better
I haven't tried it but some people use the feed as bedding for chicks, but that sounds expensive and I am not sure if later they would be more prone to eating the wrong things or not...
I used paper towels for the first week for 17 chicks and 2 poults, then switched to pine pellets... the pellets are to large for them to eat for a while

Another poult was gone when I woke up this morning :/ I'm not used to them dropping like this anymore. There's one more that looks iffy. It's rather small and hasn't been eating. I gave it a couple drops of vitamins and in an hour or so, I'll try blending up some scrambled egg for it and feeding through an eye dropper. Hopefully I can turn it around. I had it at a swap with me this morning and every time I thought it was going to die on me, it would stand up and start walking around so I'm not ready to give up on it yet. Thankfully, my penciled poults and chocolates are all doing good still.

I thought that once they arrived safely in your hands, the post office was no longer liable. Only 1 was dead on arrival. I'll keto now of this for future reference though. I checked on the baby a little bit ago and she was up and moving around again. I don't know what to think lol.
