Okay,, You all heard her, a little patience on both sides would help keep the thread going...

If we go off topic slightly Please expect it.. If you know you are posting something that will get us off topic. Please post it elsewhere. Many of us have been here a long time now and are use to going off topic, if we try to not go as far off and those newbies to the thread realize a lot of us our old friends, We might be able to save this thread..

Patience and a little leeway on both sides would help. As the OP I have not tried to control the conversation to just turkeys and have let other things creep in.

Also this thread is more set up towards people raising turkeys as pets or in limited numbers than a huge turkey producer. It might be people wanting to look for more serious production turkeys should have their own thread.

We do a lot of talking about integrating turkeys with other fowl. (ducks, chickens, guineas and so forth)

Please understand Turkeys are not chickens they have other needs, especially when raised as pets. I eat my pets, not everyone does, remember also not all of us have the same goals with our birds.

And beyond all else please try to keep a sense of humor, we joke amongst friends here but we also cry and feel the pain of others when they lose their pets. I would not have been able to recover from the loss of JJ, Ethel and Sidekick in this last year without the help of each of you here... My flock is getting back to a new normal. I have a new leader, not the Tom I wanted to lead but at least order is restored..

Did they delete a bunch of posts or something? I didn't notice any new off topic derailings lately. It makes me worry just how picky they are going to be in future.

Are we only allowed to talk about turkeys and nothing else whatsoever? And this is because some new people complained to the mods? I feel like we are in trouble for something that we don't even know what it is.

It's not a miracle worker, depends on what is wrong with the bird... but it is a great supplement especially if it's not eating properly...

the nutra drench worked the rooster is doing much better!

I thought that once they arrived safely in your hands, the post office was no longer liable. Only 1 was dead on arrival. I'll keto now of this for future reference though. I checked on the baby a little bit ago and she was up and moving around again. I don't know what to think lol.

So sorry for your losses.

Finnie it will all be ok, if people just don't over react and give it time to settle down a little. I have been talking to ducklady and she is overwhelmed with the mess right now.

Hopefully, we can stay a little tighter on turkeys and hopefully, whoever complained will not expect us to talk exclusively turkeys.

With patience on both sides it will work. I am assuming ( and I don't know for sure) someone is not use to us being as familiar with each other as we are. And did not understand we know more about each other than just turkeys.

If not we have alternatives, but like I said, relax and give it all time. Ducklady will handle it. She does not want to close this thread as even though we have some off turkey talk we have lots of good turkey info and talk here too.

Thank you Ralphie. If it's such a mess, then I am guessing Ducklady must have had to delete many posts. I used to be a moderator on a budgie forum, so I understand about cleaning stuff up. Apparently since I have only been checking in once a day lately, I have missed seeing all the problem posts before they got deleted.

Anyway, I think we have been very welcoming to new people lately, and I hope that most of them will feel welcome and join us on here.
