A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

@feedman77 remind me what kind of quail you're raising... I'd like to start raising some for me (TN is a pita about quail for sale). I'm thinking about buying some breed stock next spring and hatching my own eggs.

I have cotournix quail in 3 color varities. They are not regulated in Mo. No permits.

I did hatch out some bobwhite eggs at the beginning of the year. They all got processed.

It didn't get any higher that 67 here today and rained ALL day. It feels like summer suddenly ended.
High of 70 today, currently 67 degrees. Rained all night and most of today - in fact, it's raining now. Yesterday was good but not hot. The preceding 5-6 days it rained. If not for hours, at least every 30 minutes. Thunder, lightning, fog, and tornado warnings with at least one confirmed tornado a couple miles from me. Tree leaves are already turning color with some leaves on the ground - probably from all the wind.

Chickens, ducks and turkeys thought it was great.

It feels like and looks like fall. I think I am dreading winter already!
:he:barnie:oops:

What would cause one turkey poult to grow slower than all the rest? My one little "chocolate" poult from Porter's is probably half the size of the others. Sometimes I look in and he looks like he just can't keep his eyes open and is SO tired (then I panic that he's going to die on me too) and other times he's up, running around and eating just fine. He's closer in size to the young "Smurf" that I picked up at the swap this weekend then to his bothers and sisters.
