I'm still uncertain what sound she was making... Wasn't a hiss, wasn't a coo, much more like a chicken angry about the nesting box being occupied. Didn't know a turkey could make that kind of sound. None the less, she had a death grip on the handle. I picked her up and she kept the hammer. So what do you do when all else fails, offer worms. She gladly traded the hammer for treats.Bet she was hissin at you wasn't she. Hahahahah. When our ladies of leisure are of a mood they hiss and then follow us round.... and hiss some more.. It is most likely we are cleanin out their run and they want attentions and we are not givin it properly. Then ever night come bedtime it is a hissin contest.

I have learned that years ago Rjohns.....
Still some are PITAs. I have one black one that thinks it is so fun to make me run him in...We will see how much fun he thinks it is around Mid-November when I need a volunteer for the table.
All my birds went into the coop about 2 hours ago we had a small hailstorm/rain cell with heavy winds come through and every turkey went into the chicken coop, even the young ones that don't live in the coop. They ran, flew and screamed all the way to the coop....They were (excuse the pun) Big CHICKENS!!!
I know what you mean! That was a wonderful visual. lolR2elk...interesting hen. And the sweetgrass is amazing !
And Esther is too cute with her turkey.
Fladhpoint....my Daisy will fly by my head when I'm mowing. We just look at each other as she flies by. She's usually about 6 inches from hitting me. Twerp....
The parrot in my avatar is an African Grey. That is her "Please come and pick me up and play" pose, she reaches out the foot and says, "Come here!" Just learning about turkeys, don't mind me!Yoopergirl, not sure how old they are...but they look like girls except for maybe #3. Only a turkey lover is going to be posting turkey pictures at 3 in the morning....silly girl!!
Parront....cute parrot in your avatar. What type is it? Oh...no idea on the live/dressed ratio. But someone here will weight in.
