A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

:lau We joke around about what costs us to have fresh eggs. :(
isn't that the truth !!! I figured it was 33 cents an egg in feed, but comparable eggs at the farmers market are $8 so I tell myself I am saving money:gig oh well it is a hobby that gives something back... I keep telling my brother it is better than being a crazy cat lady.:celebrate

I have a friend who gave up on heritage breeds because his market demanded big breasts... Now he sells a couple thousand BBWs each year at $5/pound and always runs short. His approach is pre-order... His customers give him a $20 deposit for each bird they pre-order.

Friend of mine outside of Boston raises Bourbon Reds, has them processed, then sells them to all the yuppies in the Boston berbs for a handsome profit. They only raise about 20 a year.
