A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

My turkeys love my wedding band/engagement ring for the diamonds. I’ve definitely used the ring to lure them into their coop when they’re being stubborn. Thankfully they’ve decided the sand is ok now. I do need to sift it out again and it’s hard to crawl under the roosts (good thigh workout doing squats). Really need those poop boards installed!

No...her name is Flora Ann...I call her Annie. Or use her whole name.
Ralphie...did you see what PolarBerry does? Might consider wearing a diamond ring...could help rounding them up at night!!

Mister is obsessed with my ring! I've learned to be pretty nimble with it and hide it quickly if need be. He's got me terrified of losing one of the diamonds! The others aren't as crazy about it. They've already learned that is not food but Mister thinks every day that it might be different lol

This is our outlook for the week. No frozen pipes here yet :fl but it's COLD! I don't handle cold well lol. Tomorrow might be half decent.

All feathered fowl are locked in their coops and have been since Christmas (chickens have their plastic covered run too). I'm glad the turkey coop has a light and plenty of room though. Their coop isn't insulated and it has tiny little ice crystals creeping all around the walls inside but it's noticeably warmer in there than it is outside.
thats tropical!! lol, one house in my town (who actually has a weather station) reported -29* without the wind chill

my sister sent me a video of her at work making it snow (throwing boiling water) but she also works at a ski resort so i thought she was sending me a video of the big guns lol

My kids are obsessed with gloves. When I was a kid my hands froze to a rifle and they just don't do well in cold temps. All of my birds are bothered by the gloves.
ouch! :hugs

My turkeys are bothered by everything, even the Tom's. They are more set in their ways and less tolerant than the old ladies at the church Circle my Grandma use to go to.......

Memphis drop the hat on the ground and walk away, that will give you 40 minutes of entertainment as they discuss that new development.

We have cheap colored bowls from the dollar store we put out table/kitchen scraps in to bring out to the birds. The birds love table scraps, even the ones some on here say I should not feed them.....(my birds, I will feed them what I want)..... byc cant hear.gif

Anyways-- I took a bowl out the other day and I no more than stepped on the sidewalk and the royal palm tom saw me and started the excited clicking clucking noise the make when something good is about to happen..... They all came running with the dinosaur gait of theirs. The swarmed me I thought they were actually going to mug me and take the bowl.

When I emptied the bowl it was mass confusion as they dove into the old mac and cheese and other assorted goodies.. Even at 20 below they entertain me and earn their keep....

That said shortly after this, I was forced to punt the fence sitting bird giving bronze Tom in the chest. He attempted to attack me from behind. I told you all I was worried about him doing this so I watch him closely. I finally got a good connection and he flew about 8 ft (Sorry PETA, but byc cant hear.gif ). I was worried I might have hurt him, but it appears I did not. I would rather he be in pain for a while to think about his actions than he attack a person.....To those of you that think this is cruel, remember if he does not learn I am the leader not him, he will become sandwich meat...

The way he has been acting, he may not be a breeder this year. He may not even be a breather if this keeps up. At least now he has a couple weeks worth of reprieve time, while the bruises heal before he loses his head for being an idiot.

I have one I grab his legs, shove him down and use my finger to peck his head. When I let him up the others attack him and he is too busy to think about me for days:lau

Would you mind if I let PETA know about you and what you do...It might get them off my back... index1.jpg
