Three more poults hatched today and the last two have external pips. Then that is the last for the year here! My rp is a hissin snappy nasty lil thing still.

Do you think if i kept these in a brooder for a few days maybe the hens would take them in or would it be too late? I just dont know about stickin them in with the week olds they already have.

Hey folks, I have a brooder dilemma... Normally I set turkey and chick eggs same day and add a few week old chicks in with the day old turkeys. I have two brooder cells, but want to run a rolling hatch adding chick eggs every two weeks. Was contemplating adding turkey eggs with the chick eggs but fear that would mean i'd need a 3rd brooder. How do you think a few day old poults would do with a batch of week old chickens?

Week old chickens make great mentors for day old poults! Question: Do you mean setting turkeys every week, and only adding some chickens every other week, or did you mean that you are planning all your hatches to be two weeks apart? (Just because I am nosy and wondered why anybody would want to skip a week. )

I am collecting for 14 days and then into the bator. By skipping the week, I can put bigger groups in the brooder and manage the two cells and shelters better. They spend 3 weeks in the brooder and 5 in the shelter before they get introduced to the main flock.

Hahaha. He says he would never know anything bout talkin into a fan....

I don much believe him! He has too much time on his hands. Lol! Yesterday we were tryin thread electric line through water pipe so he could bury the wire.... he was singin into the other end of said pipe..... cause that is how my bonehead rolls most days. Lol!

Added in some Franken-tubing so don’t have to open it at all and turned off the turner. Fingers crossed for some turkey poults in a few days!

Having trouble keeping over 60% humidity with the water trays full to the brim... I ran the shower in the room to up ambient humidity. It just rained and don’t have our hvac going so no clue why I can’t get it humid!
