A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Well...."damaging " storms on the way today. Oh boy...nothing more thrilling than damaging winds & tornadoes. However, if we survive, tomorrow is supposed to be nice.

Due to weather, we will have to delay guinea hunting till tomorrow. Did I mention they are becoming a neighborhood attraction? If my turkeys have accomplished anything, they have conditioned the neighbors to seeing odd birds wandering around. Yesterday, as neighbors were interrupting our hunt, the conversation would turn to my turkeys. Met a few folks who drive by, smile & wave & never stop. A few with kids who definitely want to bring them over to meet the girls. Its reassuring to realize folks generally enjoy seeing the turkeys. Although I'm referred to as the turkey lady. Better that than the cat lady....I guess.

@Auroradream26 your saddles are looking good.
@memphis good luck with guineas. Sounds like the neighborhood is getting involved so it shouldnt be long before the Guinea gangs days of torment will be over.

Woke up to heavy wind, rain and thunder this morning. But at least its 40 outside.
Got my new turkeys picked up last night. Got them settled into a pen. Was late when I got them home. Really need move them this morning but with weather and mud that I sink in above my ankles they may have to wait a day.

That dreaded week at work that comes once a year will start for me at about 2 am sunday. And will go for 8 days. So won't be able to get much done next week.

Most of my birds are still on winter break from laying. But 2 quail have started in the last couple days. But am so ready to hatch a few turkeys.

Feedman....sorry about your upcoming work schedule. Bummer. Raining here, but our heavy wind & tornadoes are a few hours out. Have the girls in their pen. They aren't happy.
Coonhound not happy either. Didn't get his morning run due to rain & mud. It's like living with a two year old sometimes ....

Went to the grocery around 7. Drove past the guineas grazing on the way out. They pointed & laughed at me.

You got off easy.. normally they throw things at people trying to capture them.

I bet a couple flipped you the bird, you just missed it.

Snowing like crazy here. Still. Will this winter ever end?
