A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I've been just hanging out when I can. Worked the concession stand for Saturday's alumni/homecoming game. Sunday was church and grocery shopping. Today was just a stressful battle with eBay. There's some sort of glitch where purchases aren't showing up. I wouldn't have known anything was up if I didn't receive a notice from PayPal that someone bought something :/ I'm slowly working on making more Serama/seabright sized saddles since people are starting to get some here and there but I think I'm going to finish up and grab a glass of wine to finish off the evening.
Hope everyone else is having a more relaxing time! Temps have been in the 70's for us but cool overnight. We got the small greenhouse all set up in the screen porch for the winter with our lemon and avocado trees in it. Hopefully they'll do well in there. They're getting too big to pull back in the house lol

Busy weekend for me. In the upper 80s here with humidity making it feel mid 90s.
Decided to pick up 2 pallets of wood pellets for my mother today to get her ready for winter. With all the rain I could not get trailer in the back yard to shed. Had to offload to hand cart and pack to shed and restack. So that meant handling 100 40# bags twice.
Now time for a bourbon and water and relax .

Still setting record highs here. High 90's. Just miserable![/QUOTE]
Lol. I thought maybe something happened on my end and I was just missing posts. Yes on temps - 98 high here two days in a row - but the entire summer has been on the high end of temps. I understand maybe starting next week, it will be in the 70's.

Night before last and without any wind or storm or rain.....a tree (or two) fell into my big run - across the top of my old coop and up against the camper I just moved in there. It even broke the corner out of the dog kennel panels. It's approx 40 foot long - still trying to figure out how to get it moved!

Did finally see my first squirrel this year. They have been missing for months!

It just now hit the high for the day of 54°F. The low was 39°F at 8:16 AM.
@R2elk You can keep that cold weather awhile longer. I don't need it yet. :lau
I do need to get a picture of my Tommie turkey. Someone posted his brother (looks like him) over on the FB genetics page - and someone else said it was a "sweetgrass". Kevin Porter said "calico". I'm not sure about either one, but maybe Tommie changed that much? The last two years, his breast feathers were mostly black (see avatar) - this year he looks like this one and even has a lot of white and some brown on him.

Bad pic of Tommie (only one on my phone right now lol) His tail feathers are ragged - normally white with black band.

Glad to see everyone else is ok. I was really starting to wonder if I was in the twilight zone or not. Now - where's Ralphie??

I would go with Porter on that. As black as he looks from the side, I would not rule out Cornish Palm. Only DNA testing and/or selective breeding will give clues to what he actually is. It is not uncommon for them to change their appearance as they age. My Sweetgrass tom is whiter this year than he has been in past years.

Any luck getting that limb cut up? A pole saw would help. If you were closer you could use my battery one. The battery dies about the time my back starts complaining LOL
