A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Unfortunately, a perfectly fitted turkey saddle will have very little showing and may not be noticeable from a side view when sitting on the ground. Something that sits on top of the wing would have more value but would also interfere with wing action and may not be tolerated by a turkey, especially a tom turkey that would be vulnerable during a spring turkey season.

I was thinking about the visibility problem and trying to come up with a way to make it more noticeable. Maybe a ridge, sticking up the middle of the saddle, almost like a shark's fin but not tall and pointy, just an inch or two high so it would show above the feathers but not be flapping around all over the place. What do you think? I may have to do some experiments. I definitely don't want anything loose and flapping around, that could scare them (remember the first Sweet Pea saddle attempt lol). And I don't want anything interfering with flight ability/wing function.

Hmmmm... a design task! Sorry guys, we are talking about sewing again!!

How about just making a 2" tuck down the back by doubling the fabric? It would be stable enough to stick up and bulky enough not to flop. Better yet...run a strip of your tutu material down the center! I know...totally impractical, but super cute!

I bet a turtle neck dickie would work. A blaze orange sock like thing around their necks with a small orange bib.

Do you not remember how the Sweet Pea misfortune went? Her experimental one had a Velcro strap around the neck.... She freaked out and everyone chased her down lol
