A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

We're under a tornado watch as well though they're a rarity in our area. Hopefully there won't be any, for any of us!
I have lived in this area for over 35 years and I know of maybe 2-3 "suspected" tornadoes. That tornado watch extends even to my brother's place and he's 250 miles away from where I am. I think it's an awful broad area depicted other than a tornado can form at any given time anywhere.

If I think it's going to get bad, I'll go to the chicken shed. I know it's been there for over 40 years and is probably safer than this mobile home! I can hide under the hay.
 :pop

We have a double wide without a basement so I think the safest place for us would be in my bedroom closet. It's closest to the middle of the house with no windows. There have been a few confirmed tornadoes semi locally but. They're still extremely rare. Where we are, we're situated in a mini valley set down a little from the ridges. If one was going to form, I think it would be up on the ridges in the fields.

Adorable! They need to enter the Halloween contest on here!

All the girls are doing fine. I've let them out during breaks in the rain. Found skinny Iris standing in my driveway crying. I guess she hopped the fence. Daisy was on my backporch making a ton of noise. She snitched on Iris. The other two were in the dog yard. I've been keeping them in my yard, I guess they flew over the fence. So, bottom line, they are hopping all over the place! Then they stand there crying. Sigh....

Be careful up there - getting reports that the PA line (2 miles from me) up into the Allentown area are getting up to 80mph winds. I just had one round of 20-25mph here.

Adding that most of the little towns north of me are getting flooded - they listed ones that are within 30 miles of here. Also a number of trees down. Keeping fingers crossed I do not lose power, but the generator is ready. :caf Breaker blew on my water pump and did not come back on - even after I went out and reset it.

Might be a long night.

lucky you don't live in Oklahoma, every bad storm out here always has a tornado warning, and as for the weather, rain for the past week, and just today sunshine, but the temp is staying under 42 degrees, and i'm very happy to say that my baby turkeys are staying warm, they have dried mud on their feathers though, so they don't look good, but they are all happy, and active, the only issue I am having is they are growing too fast, the largest one already stands 2 feet tall, and weighs roughly 7+ pounds (it appears to be a Tom), and the rest are about 1.5 feet tall, and are around 5 pounds or so (figuring i have 1 possibly 2 toms, and the rest are hens)...

Its hard to clear land for my animals when the seasons change and won't allow me to go out there to clear away the trees, and brush that is not needed around my farm

I hope your power stays on and you don't get flooded! It's always a pain when it goes out. We have a generator but it's not set up right now. It would only take a few minutes though if we had to. I have turkey eggs in the bator so I really don't want the power out! We're in central, PA about an hour and a half to two hours east of Pittsburgh. Most of the stormy weather is past us now but we're dealing with the wind in it's wake. It's sounding really rather nasty right now. Almost a constant whipping through the trees :/ I worry most about a tree falling on the house, the cars or the coops. Weather app is saying that we have sustained winds of about 22 mph atm with gusts up to 50. I may be up late tonight waiting for DH to get home. He has about a 40 minute drive home from work and most of the road goes through open fields and over the mountain tops. He may drive a little prius, but that thing blows in the wind worse than my SUV! That, and it looks like we may get a little of that nasty white junk right around the time he's coming home ….

@Eric E Chicken whisperer I'm glad your babies are keeping warm! I don't think I could live where I was constantly worrying about tornados :/
