A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Sorry folks....I'm such a dog person....hope I didnt go on too long!
The wandering off part is one of my main concerns.. :hmm
Where we intend to move their won't be extremely close neighbors. But out there people aren't afraid to shoot your dog if it happens to turn up on their place unwelcome.

@memphis .. .
I've got puppy fever. I really need to wait until we move out of town though. I want a black and tan!!

I'm slowly getting puppy fever myself... Last week, we puppy sat MIL's Chihuahua. While I can't stand little dogs, it was nice having a dog in the house again and the cat absolutely loved having her here (he loves dogs, hates cats). DH is far from ready for another dog though so I think I'll be waiting a while :/

Some one should get a saddle, I couldn't tag you, but I put your saddle link

Thank you. I clicked the link but it didn't work. It just said link may be broken or maybe it's an invite only group or something? What's the group's name?

I know all about the long ear business ..I had a cocker spaniel that required constant ear maintenance. :rolleyes:
Is it even possible for a dog to stink worse than a cocker spaniel?
Just as a public service announcement... our dog (a lab/golden) also needs lots of ear care. I think it’s just a floppy-ear dog thing. We don’t buy the prescription stuff from the vet anymore because it doesn’t work. At All. We get Zymox from Amazon. Not cheap, but it’s wonderful stuff. Actually works, plus no vet bill.

@memphis I really enjoyed your description of hounds. I’ve never had one (and probably won’t) but they sound like fascinating dogs. :)

my grandmother has an old cocker spaniel (i think its roughly 15+ years old already), and it does not stink, but my neighbor's black Australian shepherd dog does... I have tried keeping dogs once before, it just isn't for me, I prefer a chicken, duck, goose, turkey, peafowl, and even guineas over a dog as a pet (no offense to any dog keepers, just never really had good experiences with dogs other than with my grandmother's friendly German shepherds that passed away long ago, and her cocker spaniels)
