A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Holm called last night. I haven’t talked to him in a while so it was great to hear from him.

JJ Junior was a bad turkey yesterday and attackedHolm twice. Holm was a little worried when he reacted he had kicked Junior in the chest too hard, until he attacked the second time.

He says he doesn’t mind Junior being kind of a jerk because it keeps people from wanting to go into his bird pen and Junior only really attacks him. I have a feeling if Junior was dumb enough to attack his Grandpa it would be his last attack. He said Junior was good for quite awhile, but started again. I think it’s hormones as he just started getting turkey eggs. He has 4 now.

DQ is doing good. She still acts like she doesn’t want to be picked up, but when he does she will sit in his lap, lean into him and talk for hours. He said if you ignore her she finds away to get his attention so he will listen to her.

Memphis he sent a picture of her, I want you to see it.

That’s neat! My old hen had six little beards in a line; I meant to save them when she died but they got lost somewhere in the butchering. I saved her mates beard though - all 16” of it!

My Turk Choochie had a thing for attacking dh too, I found a plastic coffee can fit just nicely over “strut head” and took a surprisingly long time for him to shake off lol

Finally got a beautiful day. No wind at all. Of course it always seems to be on a night I have to work. But I took advantage. Had an old 4 x 8 pen that a limb fell across and destroyed the tarp roof. Cant seem to find a replacement for a reasonable cost. So I repurposed it and made a greenhouse out if it with some plastic drop cloth I had around from wrapping windows over winter. Maybe it will hold til we get tornado winds again and I make it to the store for sheeting for a better roof.

Bantambird & Ralphie....the pics are priceless! So glad Holm is paying attention to DQ. She's special. AND has a beard!!
Haven't been on much. Not feeling great. Lupus flare. Sleeping a lot. Which the hound likes. Not taking the girls for walks. Don't want to encounter too many other folks. So...not at my best. Thanks for the suggestions on the groceries. Y"all are right. I'll call in an order.
Hope everyone is hanging in there. Especially worried about Aurora....she's out amongst it all.
I'll check in tomorrow. Be safe....and may we all find toilet paper!!

Sorry been kind of busy again but I thought I would drop in with a picture of one of our other rescues. Jackie Chan isn't as human friendly as the others, more of a turkey but I haven't had as much time to work with him only had him a year
He's beautiful

@memphis I hope you feel better soon! I'm Still around and people are still flocking in. I'm thankful we're not open until 7 most mornings. It helps make things easier to do our work. I haven't had to be in the freezer anywhere near as much as I used to since i can drag my pallets out on the sales floor now.

The kids officially started school again yesterday..... online. I'm not sure how they really feel about it yet but DS has zoom meetings scheduled all week for Spanish, band, and chorus so far and both kids have all sorts of daily assignments to complete and turn in now. Pennsylvania schools are now closed indefinitely. Only online is allowed now but from what I've heard not many have taken that step yet.

Online is difficult to be disciplined enough to do.
Any girl scout cookies this year?
