A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I fixed your sentence for you...

I have raised chick with turkeys from day one it goes well. The chicks kind of teach the turkeys how to eat and drink. Turkeys are not known for their intellect.
This is a fallacy. Turkeys are more intelligent than chickens. Turkeys have different instincts than chickens and many people confuse instinct with intelligence.

I never have any problems getting poults to eat or drink without the aid of chicks as tutors. Poults' instincts are to peck at things on the ground. I use sand (free for the digging on this sand dune) for the bedding and sprinkle turkey starter on the sand. The poults usually start pecking at the food on the sand within minutes of being placed in the brooder. It may take them a couple of days to realize that the stuff in the feeder is also food but they figure it out without any problem.

I dip each poult's beak in the water as they are added to the brooder and have not had any problems with them failing to drink.

The more poults there are, the better they do. Many people have problems because of trying to keep a single or just two or three poults.

And mine can't figure out to go 10 ft farther down the fence line to the open gate they came out of :gig
And my tom that I kick out of the pen every morning comes running from 150' away on the opposite side of the pen when I rattle the door to the pen to let him in, in the evening. None of mine have any problem knowing where the door is. They will even stand by the door hollering for me to come open it for them. If I am too slow, they will just fly back in on their own.

I think it might be because mine don't get out much. Sounds like yours have a regular routine

Check out this color variation! I'm guessing these two share the same parents. Dad is the tri colored blue, mom is either Annabelle (burbon red) or pretty girl( red bronze)
