Check your state laws and how they deal with wild crosses. Here the law specifically states that all wild crosses belong to the state.Do you all do anything to keep wild toms from making “visitations” to your hens or is it something you don’t worry about/you don’t live near wild turkeys?

It really is! Finally we can discuss the painted/grizzled mutation.Reading about the genetics of the painted turkey was truly fascinating! A whole new allele!
Perfect for the smoker. Here is my ambiguous sweetgrass. He is a late bloomer but is finally strutting. He was born June 2023.
He has a crooked keel so will be processed.

i don't have a smoker.Perfect for the smoker.
The fact he was a late developer makes him a cull.i don't have a smoker.
We may roast him for Easter or do turkey and dumplings. Haven't decided yet. He is a very sweet natured bird and lovely, but the defect makes him a cull. I have too many toms.
