Good Mama didn't have any eggs hatch. Her eggs hatched under different hens and incubator, and she had eggs from 2 other hens. So I gave her a poult that was rejected and somebody gave me some CX that she accepted . She's happy

How did you get your turkey hen to adopt chicken chicks? I may try that...

How did you get your turkey hen to adopt chicken chicks? I may try that...

This hen takes anything that's smaller or same size of her young, if she has any. But I had 7 CX and one she didn't like. So another turkey who hatched a poult and 4 chicks, got 3 more. A chicken who had a failed hatch is moving in on the chicks. So much drama with too many broodies right now I have 5 turkeys with young, 3 more still sitting. 4 chickens, 3 have squashed eggs and probably won't hatch anything.

There's problems with the species not understanding they are different. I have had squashed chickens.
These are all for freezer camp so that's not a concern.
