A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

one of the groups, dawn to 3:40pm they graze our 35acs at least twice. Then there is the added escape pasture hopping. They easy to herd up and walk back to the property, they getting to the size they wont be escaping too much longer. Im busy on property all day long that I can check on their location and herd them off the one fence line. They do a lot of traveling that is for sure. Today I saw a loose herd of bob white quails (not mine) that were running the fence line with my turkeys. There is 3 groups it amazing me how far they travel everyday. Me 3:45 pm I crash and burn lol

it's just the one frontal fence that they want to leave the property. Am thinking about running a hot wire along the top of the 6ft fence. They too big to go through the fence, but they want to fly to the top and go over.

everyone hanging out thought it was cute

Fences with a top bar or rail are an invitation to turkeys. They will sit on it and invariably get down on the wrong side of the fence.

I don't know what good a hot wire would do unless the fence itself is grounded. There needs to be a ground to complete the circuit for them to get shocked.

It's why birds can sit on power lines without getting shocked.
