I had 4 duds when this thread was started, and am down to 2 now! My Cuckoo Marans started laying 3 days ago. My Black Australorp, who has LOOKED ready for months now, squatted for me yesterday.

Chicken Math strikes again!Our days are still short, really short, but I guess the increasing light is really doing something.
So 2 days ago I had 3 eggs from my 5 girls, yesterday only 1 egghopefully it will get more consistent. I didn't realize egg laying was such a sensitive thing until after I got chickens. I may just need twice as many birds to get the eggs I want!
My BA laid her first egg today! Now my only dud is the easter egger. A recap of first egg ages:
