If you think Medical care is an issue....and that's not even enacted yet. Check this out.....Social Security may "officially" be bleeding red ink in 2010!!??

Maybe the US govt outta fix what they have first.

Everything we have all paid into a system....for years, "poof" up in smoke, never to be seen or accounted for.

yup...scary! Where did it go...

When they fix medicare, medicaid and the IHS, then we might consider listening to what they have to say.

Until then, giving them more money and more power is like letting your teenager borrow your car and giving him $20 after he smashed his own car and pawned his bike to buy lottery tickets.

Whoever it was that mentioned the "latest crop of idiots," you're absolutely right. I can't think of a truly good president after Coolidge. One of my favorite quotes from him is "The most important accomplishment of my administration has been MINDING MY OWN BUSINESS."

Anyway, I think DC should from now on be known as the world's second biggest funny farm.
(London is the biggest.)

You do realize you already pay for other people to recieve medical treatment.

Yes, I realize that folks do not ever intend on paying the bills they rack up when they visit the emergency room for a sore throat, and that in the end the cost goes up for everybody to compensate for their neglegance (sp?). Do you know that at wal-mart, if I steal I would be arrested and procesecuted to the fullest extent of the law?

Things need to change, but government run insurance is not the change that needs to happen. They should not take money from my paycheck to pay for people that won't pay their bills. I have to pay my medical bills on my own, noone is paying them for me. What makes my neighbor any different? People need to be held accountable and the rules need to change, not the playing field.

Truly, I do appreciate the candor shown here in these two replies; Unlike many on here, at least they admit their lack of concern for their neighbors possible misfortunes; it's not always "laziness". Their statements do beg the question of how they would feel if some disaster struck and they or their loved ones were without insurance and facing silent suffering and/or death if they could not pay for medical attention.

What exactly do you say that needs to be fixed about medicare and/or medicaid and/or I.R.S.? It's just a fad now to say the federal government can't do anything right; it's just not entirely true. With that said, I do want to say that there aren't many who are more anti-government than what I am; however, there are some good programs, at least nothing better is out there for senior citizens and the disabled.

Let's bear in mind that all the private companies that tried to take over the public schools have ALL disappeared; they couldn't come close to doing better than the public system.
