My dachshund got into my coop when we first built it. Had my girls not been bigger than her she probably would have done some serious damage herself. Lily's six months old and quite aggressive. She met her match that day and then some. We fixed that problem right away but she will run around the coop and run barking.

OMG! I can't even begin to understand why a state would want to ban Saint Benards because of a movie. "Cujo" had rabies. Did they really ban them? That's just crazy.

Thanks. We are breathing much easier now. I had a difficult time trying to sleep last night, too. I don't think I'll have too much trouble tonight.

I am trying to find it. Here is a link you can read to understand BSL and what breeds are banned.

I have a chihuahua/dachshund mix who I do NOT trust with my chickens. I got her from the pound, she was from an abuse case. She is "good" 99% of the time, BUT I will never trust her completely around kids or small animals. The vet tried to clip her nails once and had a difficult time, because she was "like a pit bull" (not my words - that's what the vet said)when they tried to trim her nails! She is my sweetheart dog, but I am always keeping my eye on her!

I do (somewhat) trust my cairn terrier, who by breed history was bred to seek out small animals to kill. My beagle - forget it. Strong prey drive. My cairn/jack russell mix, who knows? He's too hyper!!!

Anyway, my point is that I guess we need to keep in mind that dogs are carnivores. I guess since we feed them and train them, that's what's preventing some dogs from eating them... I don't know that I could ever "train" my chihuahua from not trying to go after my chickens, I guess it's just engrained in her. She stays in when the chickens are out of the coop!

Ooh wow. Holyoke Ma has a ban on pit bulls! never knew that! They are ALL over that scumy town...every scum drug dealer has one....interesting! Thanks for the info Steve.

your welcome. I need to get an anti-BSL decal for my car. There is nothing in NJ or NC which I am happy about. Though I found out that its illegal to debark a dog unless its to protect the life or health of the dog. If you debark your are guilty of a third degree crime.
