A hen dying every two weeks

You should assume these deaths are related as it's highly unusual to lose this many chickens all seemingly at once. When the cause of death is pathological, we do not often see such a tight grouping of mortality. Coccidiosis is the exception.

This points to the possibility of environmental causes. Disease kills at a much less uniform rate since each immune system is different and deals with disease at different levels of efficiency, causing more staggered deaths when an immune system finally fails.

Hopefully, the next necropsy will offer some clues or even better, answers. But meanwhile, you would be wise to go over every single possible environmental cause for these deaths. These include leaking machines sitting in the yard, toxic weeds or mushrooms, mold, rodent poison, etc.

Thank you. I use no poisons or chemicals. Are there common plants I may have that are harmful in the yard? Oddly tho, I haven't planted anything new and they've been a round these for a year!

I just read that iris and daffodils are poisonous to chickens and I have loads of them! Could this be what's happening? Should I remove all?

You would see little peck marks and tears on them if they were eating them. Do you ever see that?
I haven't seen them eating them but I have hundreds of the plants. They do like cuddling down in them and laying eggs there and play in them. Oh gosh. I'm sick thinking this could be the problem. Also, I am now freaked out about the purple tips on the comb?!

Nah, I'm pretty sure they would have to be eating them to get sick. That purple comb is odd. They are breathing totally normal, right?
