>~* A Howl At Midnight>~* A FORGOTTEN DOGS ROLEPLAY!

Dusk padded up alongside Copper, taking great efforts to flash the ruined side of her face. She held no shame in it- it'd already become a trophy in lieu of the pelt from the enemy none of them had quite eliminated. And her missing eye was just another noble sacrifice for the greater cause.
"So," she growled in a gruff voice she thought should rightfully accompany such a prestigious scar, "are you up to patrol with them?" Her remaining eye glittered with mischievousness that the war's wake hadn't been able to quench. "Or we could gather a few of the late-risers and go see how one eye holds up in hunting."
(Isn't Dusk a fellow ACD? )
Copper turned to see Dusk's scarred face. "Yeah, that sounds good.", he growled, "Nice... Nice scar."

Hollyshadow smiled, backing away from him slowly."I'll go."

~

"Not so fast!"A cry echoed from the clearing, and Squrrielflight came running over. She looked at Obsidian."Raksha cannot go. She is badly wounded from last night."The orange Sheyote turned and gave Raksha a hard, but concerned stare."Dont try to hide it from me, Raksha. I can tell your in pain."

~

Birch looked over at Breeze, trembling in fear. She had never felt as scared in her life as she was now, she Wasnt this scared last night or in any other battle. This was life or death for her sister. Her best friend. The dog that had always been there for her, supported her and loved her no matter what. Now, the brave, smart, quick and loyal Shedog was almost lifeless. Birch stared at Breeze, pleading glittering her gaze."Please."She choked."There must be more you can do."Her voice crackled with emotion.

~

Flame looked over at Obsidian."I know I'm not supposed to be here, I'm so sorry. I'll help hunt in a little bit, just, let me check on my sisters."Flame trotted past him, ears flat and body low to the ground. She pushed her way into Breeze's den, and paused. The scent of blood and herbs was overwhelming, and her head started spinning with all the scents. She shook her head, and looked over at Birch. She had seen her sister on patrols and battles before, before she knew she was her half sister. Yet, she had never seen the Shedog look so scared in her life. The normally brave and bold, sometimes hotheaded Shedog was crouched beside Ash, her ears flat on her head, her body trembling. Flame tilted her head, Birch Didnt seem to see anything around her, or even hear anything."Is she ok?"Flame woofed softly to Breeze.
~Obsdian's head snapped from the flurry of conflicting announcements surging from both of the orange she-yotes. Shaking his head to clear it of all the muddle, he turned to Raksha. "I'm of no rank to tell you what you should do," he began timidly, but carefully rolled his ears back forward as he caught Squirrelflight coming up alongside him with a hardset frown. "But is she right? If we really have to, I believe we'd be able to manage without you." Not the choicest cut of words, but eh. Obsidian had particularly been looking forward to having Raksha along- one of her insight and experience would be a stark light they needed during dark times such as these.

(Isn't Dusk a fellow ACD? )
Copper turned to see Dusk's scarred face. "Yeah, that sounds good.", he growled, "Nice... Nice scar."
(Mhmm. But he's old enough to be he father. :lau)
Dusk let a pleased grin curl the edges of her crisscrossed muzzle upward ever so slightly. "Thanks for noticing." Making to go join the rest of the budding patrol, Dusk stopped herself as she saw a small verbal rift had already split it into two. It didn't appear that any hostility had broken out, but one of the nettlingly neon coyotes- which one, Dusk couldn't tell, nor did she care- was spewing some probable nonsense in some overgrown pup's face, and he appeared a whisker's length away from high-tailing it and setting the bristling Raksha behind him off. "Great going on their parts," she muttered over her shoulder to her more stable companion. "Just what we need- disagreements within our ranks."

Raksha turned from Squirrelflight to Obsidian. She gave a lightly humored smile at Obsidian before turning to look Squirrelflight square in the eye.

"The worst pain I'm in is mental pain," she said softly. "If I don't go, I'd be worse off than I am right now."

Almost on cue, a flashback of the rabid dog fighting Blaze popped into her head. Both of them clueless about what was really happening, yet enraged anyway. Out of habit, her expression remained perfectly neutral and calm, but inwardly she wanted to run. To run until she couldn't breath, til she could forget all of this. And a patrol would be just enough to keep her from doing just that.

Night watched Raksha closely, then turned to Squirrelflight and Obsidian. "I think she should. It may help her get her mind off things, and that could be the best for her right now." His eyes focused on Squirrelflight. "I'll keep an eye on her, and if I see that she is loosing strength or becoming worse in any way, I'll take her right back to camp."

{Storm} Redfeather was the kind of dog who needed something to do to make him forget his troubles. His guilt. His regrets. He should have done more. So he would do a routine thing, the dawn patrol, so he could forget everything thing that happened. But he didn't know who the Beta was so he didn't know how to adress this. So he sat there wide awake.
Meanwhile, Cheese Grits felt just the opposite. He hid in his den as long as he could until someone made him come out because he was kind of scared of the world at that particular moment.
{Rip}
Jade kinda feels the same way as Cheese Grits and waited for someone nice enough to coax her out of her den so she could have civilized conversation.

Hollyshadow froze, staring at Squrrielflight's sudden anger."I think this battle got to everyone. No one is acting quite right today."

Slate laid in the mud, his thick fur slicked flat by it's goo. He watched the goings-on around the camp without moving anything but his eyes, too exhausted to move. Too sad to move. He vaugly remembered this feeling when he was a jailed pet, after being locked up for too long. An overwhelming sense of loneliness swpet over him.

He lifted his head just enough to nose at a deep cut on the back of his paw, and wondered how long he could use that as a lame excuse to not do anything. Maybe he'd even loose his whole foot, and never have to patrol again!
The morbidity if the thought surprised him. With another mournful sigh, he laid his head back down and stared into nothingness.

Kestrel decided he had been chewing on his stick enough for one day and threw it at Fluff's face to remind her she needs to make an Eon post.
"Hey turd" He began, noticing Slate's upset attitude. "What's up with you? Ya ain't being obnoxious like you usually are." His gaze didn't leave his friend's face, and it was obvious Slate was trying to not look at anyone.

Raksha gave Night a grateful look, then turned and watched as Squirrelflight stalked over to Flame and left camp. She let out a shakey breath, and inhaled more slowly, reining in her frazzled mind for the moment. "Obsidian, I'm following you," she barked.

(Dude I love you XD)

Slate wished briefly that he could sink deeper into the dirt and disappear. Maybe a bush would grow on top of him and it'd get named after him, but ya never know. He didn't look up at Kestrel, suddenly terrified of annoying him. "I'm... I'm fine. Yeah. It's nothing," he murmured. He stood up and stretched, feigning a collectedness that he certainly didn't have - though he couldn't help but imagine the fur on his back sticking up like a bush.
