1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes, we are new to chickens, although I did have chickens when I was an early teen. I wasnt much involved in their care. We just got chickens last Sunday.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 10

(3) What breeds do you have? Barred rock, buff orpington, and cinnamon queen

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? Google search for help with chicks

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? All kinds of things- mountain biking, tennis, paddleball, kayaking, hiking, camping, the list goes on.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. We live in Michigan. My husband and I have been married for 4.5 years. My stepson, my husband and I have enjoyed collecting animals throughout those 4.5 years. We started with a hamster, then got a Min Pin Rat Terrier named Gracie, then after we moved to our new house we found a white rabbit that was abandoned or lost on our country road, so we took him in and named him Alto..after that we got another puppy who is a sheltie rat terrier named Abner.. I took in my sisters cat, Diamond, because she was moving and couldnt take her.. and now we have 10 backyard chicks! :) Enjoy the pictures :)

Hello and welcome to BYC - thanks for joining us. You seem to have quite a growing menagerie :)

To jog your memory, on this link you'll find lots of information on almost every aspect of keeping birds - from coop building ideas, to incubating eggs - https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/

There’s a link on the page above to the Learning Centre - it’s a great resource. If you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

Each week, various topics are discussed, which can also be a great resource - https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/topic-of-the-week-thread-archives

This is a useful link of BYC guides to take a look at - https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/website-announcements-feedback-issues-guides.3/?prefix_id=3

You can use this link to contact members in your area - Find your State's thread.
