Quick question: how old is the Silkie offered to you?

Okay. Maybe you can order all your breeds as 6 week pullets on a hatchery website. MPC maybe?

I think there are some hatcheries that sell & ship chicks in the fall? Just not sure about Hawaii? Hopefully someone knows more than I do.

Do go ahead and do what makes you comfortable and happy. If you want to have the bred chicks, that is wonderful. Go for it.
