A One Day Breeding Coop

PLEASE tag me when you do. I'd like to see a coop build from cattle panels.
I started the build today! I plan to use pallets on both ends. I will drive t posts in on both sides and run welded wire along them. The roof arch will be made of 4 cattle panels. I am planning to use some metal roofing for part of the roof so the birds don't get rained on. The rest will be covered in finer wire so varmints can't get in. I want to make the roof high so the guineas will be more likely to roost there.

Nice!
Where's the door?
Ha, you caught that, huh? I haven't quite figured out what I want to do for a door yet. All of the birds I'm putting in these coops are juveniles so there's no eggs to collect and no reason to go in. Also trying to decide if I want to put a nest box in there. My Cornish just seem to squirt out eggs wherever they are standing. The run looked like scattered marbles on a hard wood floor when I got home from work. Might just use an old tire with a piece of rope tied on opposite sides and hope they lay in there. Then just pull it to the front and go to the rear and pull it back. Might just get one of those old fart picker upper things and reach through the opening I use to set feed and water.

I did...I'm picky like that, can see all the detriments like there's a spot light on them.
I guess you don't need a nest<shrugs>....or a door ;)
Or you'll keep dinking with it and add both in time.

If I wasn't 60.with a bad knee
Cheers! Same here.

I know what you mean. The first time I posted the pic when it came up all I could see were the ends of the wire ties. My only thought was, Sure would have looked a helluva lot better had I taken the time to nip them off at least on the picture side.

These were my thoughts while building it. The placement of the hatch to set feed and water gives me reach into the entire pen with my M101 multi purpose rooster intimidator/egg retriever and if I just bend some #9 wire into another snare with a longer end I'll be able to catch one also through the hatch. Don't know if the snare will work when I lift them off the ground. I could always shoot the one I need and it would be real still and easy to catch. The only problem with that method is the outcome is always less than harmonious for the chicken. :lau
If anything I'll cut out a small free range door so they can have some bug and snake chasing time. Chickens gotta have some bug chasing time.
