Hello wonderful poultry people.
First week of July, I received the following from Murray McMurray hatchery:
  • 35 - CXRS JUMBO CORNISH X ROCK Unsexed
  • 1 - FRCS Free Surprise Chick Unsexed
  • 5 - NIES Niederrheiner Unsexed
Typically, when I get a mystery chick, it's similar to the ones in the order, but this one seemed all together different. And now, at 6.5 weeks, it's easily half the size of the Niederrheiners and the Ameraucanas I hatched here at the same time. Also it's legs are SLIGHTLY tinged slate.

Any thoughts on sex, but most of all BREED?

At about a week and a half:

I agree with the previous few posters-- it looks like a Silver Spangled Hamburg cockerel to me.

Hamburgs are a small breed, but not actually a bantam.
