Ameraucanas and Murray McMurray Hatchery

Im going to be working with silvers first. Might add brown reds later even tho I would rather have the silver version of brown red. Or make it blue red! Lol.

🤔 Wonder what lavender red looks like?
THIS is awesome! We may purchase some of your Silvers in the future if you have any available! Oh, I have sooo many ideas & images pop in my head when thinking of the possibilities...

"I like too many things and get all confused and hung-up running from one falling star to another till i drop. This is the night, what it does to you. I had nothing to offer anybody except my own confusion." Jack Kerouac

Blue red...Lavender red...both sound intriguing! I'm kinda hoping for 2 blue Amer roos...I am dying to mix 1 with the EEs & see what pretty colors can be made. I have 3 orange/black EEs, 2 with black heads, would love to use the blue to dilute the black & come up with orange/blue EEs...and I really want Silvara with a blue roo...Silver Blues!! 😍 I think these EEs are definitely going to be fun to experiment with the coloring on! Lord knows I'm not ready to do that with the Ameraucanas yet. Those will be breed to standard until we have enough available & the space to have some set aside for projects. I imagine that's nothing new for most breeders who work on projects tho.

Lavender silver. Not mine but a prominent breeder that helped get Ameraucana recognized in the APA.

SOOooo...serious question here. The batch we just hatched has some foul play in it. Just to clarify, neither of our black hens eggs were incubated...but we will be incubating them in the next week to test breed & see what we come up with. The reason is...
These chicks clearly do not appear to be sired by our Buff Orpington roo as thought. Our Crele bantam roo was only 10-11 weeks old when he broke into the big run, so he's not being suspected either.
That leaves our Black Ameraucanas. Obviously if they were blacks, they should've all hatched out black. Here lies our problem....especially since we have BBS on the way.
They have not had any free range time with our big flock in 3 months, they were 15 weeks old when they last free ranged with the adults. So idk how this was possible. They are in a superate run. They both could fly over our 8ft fences, so may e they visited while we were grocery shopping & went home before we got back lmao. I just can't rule them out even with the strict separation, even tho we never witnessed them do this. We're thinking our Ameraucanas might be the culprit, and they might be splits...are we delusional or is this a serious possibility? TIA!

Yellow/White chicks = Cuckoo Marans hens
Chocolate brown/blue = Buff Orpington hen.

Possible Dads
Buff Orpington roo
Crele OEGB roo
Black Ameraucana roo

Does anyone agree with this? Anyone else think the chicks have muffs?? Or is it possible these are all from the buff orpington roo and just fluffy & muffless? Sorry, but this is the first batch we've hatched...so obviously we're not experts. They were all supposed to have been with one rooster....we didn't plan on having to play any guessing games here...any help is greatly appreciated 😀

It's official...those are muffs...and a beard. Totally dying of cuteness here. The only roosters I have with muffs are black amers...so I guess we accidentally hatched out EEs 6 months early & with the wrong flock! Hubby is totally hooked, these little buggers are THE friendliest chicks we've ever had 😍😍 I'm starting the incubator again tomorrow...and we will have our BBS chicks by August 30th WHOOT WHOOT!!

Here they are! Picked up last night. There looks to be 7 blue, 2 black & 2 Splash. They said they didn't know if we had any black chicks or if they were all blue because they can't identify the difference between blacks & blues...but here they are...finally!! I'll try to get better pics later on.
