It's nice to know there are other people who think like me in this respect.

I need to make some friends who actually like chickens. So far, they have been in short supply . . .
Thanks for the well wishes!

I know everybody! when someone asks me how my chickens are I get a big grin on my face instantly, I could talk about them everyday. Folks give you a funny look as if I were crazy I don't care in my world they are missing out by not having chickens. My DH was not for sure about me having chickens, but I'm contagious they make me happy DH says that's all that matters If they make you happy then I'm happy. Funny thing is if my DH or DS get outside before me there already getting the chickens out before I even go outside.

Oh, I know . . . I get ridiculously happy if someone brings up my chickens, and I'll instantly love a person if they compliment them

I am the most boring person in the world to talk to, because I can't seem to talk about anything other than chickens. I used to get very impatient with new parents who couldn't seem to shut up about their infants, until I realized I do the exact same thing with my chooks

I can't wait to start training my friends' kids to like chickens . . . the parents will hate me forever once they find themselves besieged by pleading faces asking for their own birds, I'm sure, but the world could use more chicken lovers in it

Chickenfanatic - I love you

Hoosierhen - LOL, my BF was getting jealous of the attention my chicks were getting one day and said that I act like I love them more than him, to which I replied, "If you don't like it, get off my property." He's never mentioned it since, but every time I let them out to play around on the patio and give them treats I can see the little gears turning behind his eyes, trying to figure out what's so special about them. It cracks me up

Haha, another who does the same! I did that with my cousins, but made sure to instill in them how important it was that their parents never find out who did it =X
Mainly because they would whine my ears off if they ever found out, lol.

I will leave my dog if I ever move (My in-laws here love her). But the chickens MUST come. Even away temporarily, I have taken with me a chicken that needed special care.
Chickens brighten my life, soothe my heart, and often pull me up when I otherwise would have a hard time getting myself up.

I lost 6 of my muscovy duckings today, and called off work. I couldn't even think straight. I lost 12 0f 13 Barred Rock pullets and 12 Rhode Island Red pullets last year on Father's Day,(fox, trapped in 2 days and exicuted) and had to work & cried all day. ( nurse) Started out with 25 ,wound up with 1! Darn thing dug a hole under an inside door, after which My hubby poured a 5 inch concrete floor, hasn't happened again !

My lone survivor duckling is here with me now, in the house. Hubby says she stays as long in the house as I want her. Good Hubby !

When Slifer died, I was incoherent calling into work...thank the Gods that I work in a petshop so they understood.
I'd leave my DS before I left Obelisk.

People don't understand how these feathered eyeball eating, toenail pecking creatures can latch onto our hearts with their talons.
