Chipmunk blinked, dumbfounded. "You... You're sorry.... just like that?" he said slowly.
"Yup. Are you going to join Thunderer tribe?" Pebble said, pawing at the ground.
"I-I don't know. I'll have to think about it."
"You don't want to stay with our parents... right?" Pebble asked.
"No... but I have friends in my tribe..." Chipmunk said, tail twitching nervously.

"Come on!" Dart said, dashing through the bushes. He came out onto the sand, the desert opening up before him like a golden lake. He tasted the air, following the scent of a rat in its burrow. He sat down noticing for the first time the glint of green beyond the dunes. "Is that the jungle? Mongoose told me about that, have you ever been there?" He asked pebble.

Pebble jumped into the air. "Dart!" she hissed, "Don't do that!"

Chipmunk looked on with amusement in his eyes.

"Thunderers?" Sun inquired, ears perked.

Dart stumbled back through the grass, smiling at the cat he had almost barreled over. "Sorry! Who are you?" He asked glancing from the new cat to pebble, and back again.

Pebble jumped into the air. "Dart!" she hissed, "Don't do that!"

Chipmunk looked on with amusement in his eyes.
