Thorn's heart had a pang of longing.

Oh, please let that be the jungle. Sun could almost taste the cool scent of leaves ahead of them.

Iris ran ahead. "Don't worry Blue!" (@RiverStorm) "There's a source of water! An oasis!"
Crimson nudged Willow (@LilJoe) "a little bit longer," he whispered to her.
Blue almost felt the water on his tongue, but his brother's pace was awfully slow.
Adish ran foward, his trudging steps turning to jubilation. Shiloh longed to follow, but he had to stay with the group so they could converse with him. He had found the oasis on his way out, and rather liked it.
Lion and Nile stood silent, the wind tossing Lions matted fur, and blowing around Nile's regal face. Lion was happy for an opportunity like this, and, though she didn't want to be pessimistic, Nile wished the oasis was the jungle, with her mother and home. (Goes to show how many characters I have. Whew! When they get there, they should sleep, and the sun could rise, and they sleep the day so we can do a time skip!)

Sun gave an indignant sigh, but she too needed water desperately. She didn't dare run and drain herself of energy - no matter how much her mind seemed to scream Water! Water! inside her head. She was glad Shiloh and a few others had hung back too.
(I agree with the time skip idea)

Dart gasped, racing after the others, the bit of ivory clenched in his jaws. Mongoose felt her stomach turn your out there.. aren't you..I'm coming for you brother. She thought, her paws pounding against the sand, the taste of water flooding her mind.

Cobra yowled, stalking through the undergrowth. anger and panic writhed in his stomach like fighting cats. what if she dies, then no one on earth will be left who loves me! he thought, raising his voice over the birds that sang in the canopy. the two cats at his sides ducked away into the undergrowth, their fur bristled.

(When I wrote that post above, I meant Night, but you probably figured it out.) Night chased after him, beating him to the oasis. He jumped in to the water.

Mongoose stopped at the waters edge, growling in annoyance as Dart whooshed passed, charging straight into the life saving water. feather head. she thought, crouching down to take a long drink.
