A word of warning

Anything to save on the feed bill I always say. Just look at it as recycling.

I don't own a dog and when the last cat dies that' s it for me. I'm to old to bend down to do the litter box and if I'm gonna clean up after an animal it better be producing something useful other than poop.

Gah. The dreaded Cat Box Crunchy.

Holy cow!!! How many cats do you have that requires that many cat boxes?

My dogs no longer go for the poo since I switched to wheat litter here: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2751594

They
scarf down the wheat since going grain-free with their food.

I only have one cat box I have to keep an eye on and remind the dogs they'll get 'the wacker' if they go near the cat box.

'The wacker' is the fly swatter. They hate it. I have sensitive herding dogs that don't like getting swatted with it. All I have to do it go get it off the hook.

I only have 4 cats.

They mainly hang out in my room, so boxes are there for that reason. Then Bear insists on one in the front hallway, just behind our front door. Then a box in the laundry room....just in case.

I am a little confused about your post though. You said the dogs no longer go for the cat poop, but then you said they go for the litter. So are they just eating the litter, and not the tootsie rolls? We discipline our dogs, (2), with a spray bottle, but Sweet Pea is really sneaky about it. Thanks for the suggestion about the litter, I'll look into it.

I see your point, but I don't want a kiss in the face from a dog that just dined on tootsie rolls. It causes bad breath, too.

Yeah, eggs are so much more useful and exciting than a litter box.

What's worse is when one of the kids finds the cat box crunchy, like in your garden and your toddler thinks it is chalk and trys to colour with it.
