first it was the sewer pipe from thew upstairs flat leaking into my edroom & ruining my bed, now the bathroom pipe busted & there's an inch of water on the floor!! Dirty cheap landlord scum needs to have something thrown at him. My poor husband was up all night trying to stop the water, & when he gets frazzled like this he gets paranoid that the cops/the bus driver/the fat guy from down the hall/ is after him. He's bipolar/schizophrenia & is driving me nuts nonstop talking. Usually I cant get enough of ghis darlingness, but lately he's overdone it. he wont take meds tho

i know what its like to have bipolar. i hate takeing meds. maybe itll help if you dont suggest them? but after you throw something at your landlord, maybe you should move. that water could cause mold that could get you sick. good luck.

From the other side: tenant broke the toilet. Tried to put a brick in the tank. WHY???? They don't even pay for the water.

First, the stress would kill me too.

Second, what ever the reason for not taking the meds, if you don't feel right on them try something else if you can. Talk to your doctor. Bi polar is nothing to be ashamed of. No if's and or buts. Such is life.

Third, here in NY we have codes and the landlord would be sited and fined.

Fourth, Don't be afraid to ask for help. Call Social Services and explain the situation, see what they can do. Perhaps find you a safer and be kept up place.

Fifth, You may be able to withhold the rent until the slumlord brings things up to code. It doesn't mean you don't have to pay the rent, so hold on to it. Just not until he fixes things. Find out what your "tenants rights" are. Here in NY they have a brochure explaining what your rights are.

a BRICK in the toilet???????????!!! thats the weirdest thing I've heard in a while. I spent the night with the landlord because Nate was hollering again & I wasn't safe (from myself, not him. I would have cut again) The landlord was very cantakerous last night & this morning so I dont know what to say. I will go to the health department. It is causing mold that makes it hard for me to breathe. However we do not have the money to move to another place.

Poor Nate cut his hair & beard off to show how upset & angry he is, both at my leaving & the crappy building.

Maybe some one from Social Services in Oregon can come and help you out.

Seems like there are a lot of issues going on, but a landlord that will stay with you over night so you don't hurt yourself does not deserved to be called "Dirty and Cheap"
