Abbey needs help..** IMPROVMENT**

I have called her vet also a few others and the earliest they will see her is in the morning -- I gave her some dog food with some cream of chicken soup over it ( kinda water down so she would have some broth to drink ) when I went to move the bowl out of the corner she had pushed it in she almost took my arm off !! Abbey has never liked anyone touching her food bowls so having her do this is not un-normal for her.
Also got her to go outside she pee peed and is still trying to dig a hole like she did before the pups were born - like she is still trying to " make a den " ( hope that makes sense ).

I was not really worried about the fact that she only had 2 pups - because my other boxer had only 1 her first litter, and a friend of mine has a boxer that had only 3 on thanksgiving.

She is still dripping blood which I know is normal but this is kinda darker than I would like to see .....
well DH is almost home so I will see what he wants to ...

If you feel like you want to get her to a vet tonight, I can give you the number for the one we use, although they are in Tucumcari. They always have someone on call for emergencies, and been willing to see our dogs at all hours. I hope everything goes OK with her.

Dripping blood this far post partem is NOT NORMAL. Not for dogs.

She has either retained a placenta or a deceased puppy. It would be neglegent to not get her to a vet in the next 12 hours.

Pack up, grab the checkbook and head to the nearest 24 hour vet hospital.

Personally if your vet isn't willing to see her I would switch vets, I have lost to many pets not being able to get a vet willing to see us during an emergancy that at this point, I will not see a vet that isn't willing to be avaliable to me 24/7 if need be. I have had a few emergencies with my current vet and they are always been avaliable when needed.

Now if this was my dog I would insist on the vet seeing her (or start looking for another vet), but I may over react some and tend to be a worry wart.

I have to agree with everyone else. Get her to the vet ASAP. I am thinking she still has a pup inside her. She needs protein, so whipping an egg with some milk will help her. This will give her more strength. I had to do this with my Rat Terrier when she had her pups. Good luck!

We did manage to find a vet willing to see her - so we grabbed her and the boys -
they did give her that shot to see if it would help, they felt around her stomach and said he could not feel anything but -that does not mean there is nothing there - took x-rays and it does not look like there is anyone left in there no black mass meaning an afterbirth left behind.
Vet seems to think she is mostly alittle stressed over the pups - he has heard of first time moms being so worried over the pups that the " forget " to take care of themselves - she was given some meds to help boost her appetite (sp), she will drink just fine ( just does not want to drink outside ) she is going potty both number 1 & 2 so vet said that is a good thing. The dripping blood even though it is pretty dark he is not overly concerned about it - it should pass in a day or two ( but wants us to keep an eye on it just in case ).
Right now the main thing is to get her eating - we got her some canned puppy food also dry puppy and she did eat a whole bowl - we are not allowed to let her eat alot at once - he wants us to slowly increase the amount of food each time till she is eating about a bowl 1/2 at one time - increaseing to fast could make her sick.
so right now that is where we are with her - he did look over the boys and said they look good nice and healthy and fat.
