why when I post a new topic it doesn't always show up on the homepage? Seems like it gets more attention when it comes up ont he byc home page. Also...why do some posts have a little chicken to the left of the post on the forum page?

The chickens indicate a new post that you haven't previously read.

the post that show up on the homepage are the most recent post, so it may show up on there but 5 or 6 more post may come a few minutes later and "bump" it off.
so it may be on there but you just don't see it.
