?? about roos

Do the roos feather out faster? I have one RIR that has a lot more feathers on him than my others. How soon can you tell them apart in RIRs and BOs? They are about a week old now. I ordered all pullets in the RIRs, but hope I have at least one roo in their. I know I will in the BOs. The RIRs are feathering out faster than the BOs. Do they not mature as fast? I'll try to post a pic of the one in question.

I always heard the hens feather out faster.

I agree with sundown. With my brahmas the hens feathered out faster.

With my 6 salmon faverolle chicks that are now 2 weeks old, the hens feathered out faster than the rooster. You can sex them when their feathers come in. So the 5 hens got their feathers faster than the roo.

Thanks everyone. I guess I will just have to be patient and wait. Hope I don't have one hen and 9 roos!! I would definitely be complaining!
