About to put day 34 Muscovy egg in lockdown and there is ANOTHER bruise! I just lost a duckling this morning and now this AGAIN! 💔

Yes,
She never went broody, no matter how hard we tried she just scattered her eggs and laid them everywhere!
We would put them in her brooder box and she’d kick them out!
She’s only 9 months and this was her first time laying.
She started on January 23rd and just stopped a week ago! Ugh!
You do realize that eggs can be saved in a clutch. They don't have to be incubated immediately. She's also less than a year old, I'm not surprised she didn't bother brooding,

I’m so scared! What if the yolk sac isn’t completely absorbed??? 😢
My heart is pounding!
Please let me know when to make the hole bigger.
I’m going to follow directions to the tee.
It's okay you don't need to. You said it was three days ago but it isn't, it's not quite two days ago. Baby needs more time, so leave them be for now

here are some pics
The hole is how it will stay till I don’t see anymore veins
He made the darkness around the bruise as when they hit the wrong end they usually hit a bigger vein
But they often chew and get it under control
If we hit them we don’t get as lucky
That’s why wrong end babies are the most risky to assist
I won’t be enlarging his hole until I see zero veins and that could be anywhere between 48-72 hours from the first hole I made.
Hope this makes sense

This whole thing seems sooooo stressful but really are you going to hatch every single egg???? That's a lot of babies I'm also a huge animal lover i'de love to have tones of chickens but that might not be a option also the more you have the harder it is to bond still I think it's amazing how you are helping all these ducks hatch!!! I don't know how you do it I would of hatched all the eggs then not started any more still I understand where your loves coming from good luck!!!!

I agree with everything others are saying
There is no life in the eggs till you start to heat them
I have 11 girls who house with boys
Could you imagine if I incubated every egg I collected
In a month I would have over 300 ducks.
For the baby that died it wasn’t starving
Babies hatch under mom over 48 hours before she leaves the nest
First born could could be waiting 47 hours and be fine
The yolk keeps them full and hydrated
I don’t want to sound harsh or mean as that is not my intent
But that baby died cause you opened way to much egg way to early causing him to bleed
This is why I stress on time and waiting
I myself lost my first one doing the same thing and I’m okay to admit it was my fault but I learned from that
I found help on here and listened to what I was told
I know can hatch any baby that needs full assists and feel confident
How is the baby doing now ?
Did you candle his egg again ti look for veins ?
Can you post pictures of doing so and I can help you to decide if it’s time or more waiting

Good morning my friend,

Today is day 37, and he must have been working last night because he managed to make a relatively large hole.
I noticed at 2:00 AM when my daughter wanted a drink. It is now 8:00 AM and he stopped.
His peeping is so loud!!! Not little ones, but fast, mad sounding ones. Lol!
I was shocked to see he tried to get out because I swore I’d never touch an egg again unless I’m told by you or Beloved Birds!!! He’s dry and I’m hoping everything is dry that I can’t see.
Here’s how far he got.
When I took him out to take the picture I went to put him back in and out came his foot! Ugh!
I didn’t even touch the opening! 🤷‍♀️
