they apparently never met my ex or his family.. they were all born and raised in "Joisey" and very definitely call it that in real life!

Neutral, which makes me happy, because I've lived in Georgia all my life! ( Not that I'm not proud to be southern

Northern

You have a Northern accent. That could either be the Chicago/Detroit/Cleveland/Buffalo accent (easily recognizable) or the Western New England accent that news networks go for.

I guess I sound like a news man. Funny when I watch the news, I am constantly mocking the heavy NY accents that people being interviewed have.

Which American accent do you have?

Neutral

You`re not Northern, Southern, or Western, you`re just plain -American-. Your national identity is more important than your local identity, because you don`t really have a local identity. You might be from the region in that map, which is defined by this kind of accent, but you could easily not be. Or maybe you just moved around a lot growing up.

...

I'm from FL... 7th generation, but Jacksonville... dad from WI...

Hummm-

good thing they didn't ask about Florida or four... or ya'll ... folks ...

I scored a Mid-Atlantic accent. Or Philadelphia accent as they called it. I guess that makes sense because if you put a dot in the center of the map that was shown, that is where I live. The middle of Delaware.

I'm good with it. I have lived in Ca all of my life, am just glad I don't talk like a valley girl!

Northern - which makes sense, I guess, because while I am originally from Florida, which technically has no accent of its own because most everyone there is from someplace else, my relatives that taught me to talk were all from upstate New York.
