I was just cutting some low limbs and apparently not paying close enough attention to what I was doing. Immediately after I cut the first limb I heard baby birds. I started looking for them on the ground and finally found them. I quickly scooped them up and put them back in the nest. The limb was about 6 feet off of the ground right next to my chicken run. So, I sat the whole limb on top of the run, and it's not far at all from where it originally was. I don't think it will stay there if the wind blows hard enough. I'm not sure what to do next. Will the mom come back and find them? Will she reject them because I touched them?? Any advice is appreciated.
