ACK!!!! Gustav

We are Just inside the right edge of the cone.. My husband is freaking out..

We had our house all hurricane retrofitted. Shutters and lots of stuff done to the roof, all we have to do is put them on the house monday..

We are broke and my husband wants to go out and buy a generator..

Who would get a generator at this point.. the storm is not directly in our path and we might loose power for a day maybe..

Now there is 3 more systems coming our way after Gustav. Let's see. Gas, propane, money, feed, food, candles, batteries, water, clean up yard, radio, hmmmm.

Maybe it'll go back out to sea.....

ya never know...we'll be praying for you guys. WE don't want it either, we always get the aftermath rain from those and we have a big weekend planned next weekend...please...no rain...I mean, we need it, but later, later.

I was watching the news this morning. It was sad. The reporterette seemed overly excited that there might be a hurricane strike. They almost appear bored when there isn't death, strife, and carnage for them to report.

To all of our our friends and family at BYC those in line for Gustav in Mississippi, Louiseanna, Texas, possibly Florida, You are all in my thoughts and in my prayers. Please be safe , take care of yourselves and your families, know that we are all thinking of you in this nerve wracking time. Trudy

I live in Arkansas and I am sure that we will get a good backlash from all of this too. They are already predicting rain and highwinds for Weds and Thurs day here. Might not hurt for us to prep a little too I guess. Hey does anyone know if Ideal is in this path of Gustav? Got chickies ordered and supposed to come on 9/11.

Another FRUSTRATED FLORIDIAN here....(an hour west of G'ville)....believe me, I like a good hurricane party as much as the next person...I like the "gathering" of family during rainy days....but as a chicken farmer, give me a break already with all the soggy mosquito-breeding-muck!!!!

We got 6" of rain yesterday in two freak storms!!!!!

We are about as prepared as we can be, we filled up both cars, filled propane bottles, already had food stocked up in case if such an event, we have several 7 gallon water jugs that we will fill on Sunday, candles, batteries, still need to pick up misc toys and stuff in the yard........I have 7 carriers and cages to put my flock in, in case it gets really, really bad.
I'm a little nervous, and trying not to panic, but like most Americans, we're broke, so I hope it loses strength before it devastates the area again. We could NOT afford to go anywhere else, and since my husband is a tattooer, our income depends on people's extra money......So you see the problem?
Y'all keep us in your prayers!
