ACK!! Terranycin...How much to dose??!?!

I have a D'Uccle Porcelain bantam chick that is gasping for air and wheezing/squeaking as it exhales. S/he Is a week old and I've lost other chicks to a mystery problem. This one has diff symptoms though. Any-who, any one Please help me find how to divide the dosage for a quart or so of water. This is the only antibiotic medicine I have. I'm also giving it electrolytes.

I believe its 2 tablespoon per gallon. 1 tablespoon for 1/2 gallon.
I also read fresh antibiotics are needed fresh daily because the lose their potency if sitting awhile so you can't make a gallon and hope it last.
Thats the info I have for Terramycin.

Dosage 1 tsp. per gallon for maintenance 2 tsp. per gallon for treatment.
