Even if you did pay, during Thanksgiving season you can pick up turkeys for a dollar a lb. That's way cheaper than I can produce them.

You definitely have cheaper prices than we do. Even chicken can cost a lot here, which is pretty shocking.

When I look at our homegrown poultry I just remember that we got the pleasure of raising that bird and eating it too! I had hoped to offer some farm fresh birds for sale (to eat) but I still have to check into the details

I can't wait till we do ours so when I cook I can know that I provided that food.

here are the 6 turkeys and 1 chick that graduated to the brooder today.

3 more turkeys and a duck still in the bator
8 more ducks still talking in their shells and the chicks are only just starting to hatch.

moved these into lockdown they are due Thursday. Another week on the 7 turkey eggs that are going strong.

9 turkeys out in the brooder along with some ducks maybe 6? I forgot to count. Oh and 2 necked necks, one black the other may have wry neck? It's in a cup and has been given a dose of nutra-drench so we will see
